Product Description

Product Brief

VIP5-4AG5-50-S (Part No.30004) is a high performance EMC EMI power filter designed for suppressing power line conducted interference. Rated current 50A, rated voltage 380/440VAC, operating frequency 50/60Hz. It features excellent insertion loss performance under 50 ohm test system. Max leakage current is 3.2mA at 440VAC 50Hz. The insulation resistance reaches above 200M ohm at 500VDC. It can withstand 2700VDC line to ground and 2250VDC line to line hipot test for 1 minute. Working temperature range: -25℃ ~ +85℃. This filter effectively attenuates electromagnetic noise from power circuits, protects equipment from external EMI disturbance and prevents internal noise from transmitting back to power grid, helping products pass EMC compliance test.

  4. Prevent noise generated by high-power loads from polluting the mains power supply.

5 Common FAQ for EMI Filters

FAQ 1: What is the function of an EMI filter?

EMI filter is used to filter conducted electromagnetic noise on power lines. It can block noise from the grid entering your device and stop noise generated by your device feeding back to the power supply, ensuring stable equipment operation and EMC compliance.

FAQ 2: How to select the rated current of EMI filter?

The filter rated current should be higher than the maximum continuous working current of your equipment. For this model VIP5-4AG5-50-S, the rated current is 50A RMS, suitable for devices with working current below 50A. Over-current will cause overheating and damage the filter.

FAQ 3: What is leakage current of EMI filter?

Leakage current is the small current flowing from line to earth through filter capacitors. This model max leakage current is 3.2mA. Devices with earth leakage protection need to take leakage current into consideration during design.

FAQ 4: What is hipot test for EMI filter?

Hipot test is high voltage withstand test to verify insulation performance. This model supports 2700VDC line to ground and 2250VDC line to line for 1 minute. It checks no breakdown or flashover under specified high voltage.

FAQ 5: What affects the actual noise suppression effect of EMI filter?

Besides filter performance itself, installation wiring, grounding quality, cable length and layout will greatly affect filtering effect. Short input/output wires and reliable grounding are strongly recommended for best insertion loss.
